Rick Pabon officially joined the University of Fort Lauderdale men’s soccer program in May of 2020 as the first head coach in programs history.  Before coming to the Eagles, he had a decorated two-year back to back National Champion sweep alongside Fernando Valenzuela at Florida National University.  These were not the only championship they won in their tenure together. In 2009, at Florida Memorial University, they were the Sun Conference Champions and were ranked in the top 30 in the country.  

Pabon was coaching professionally in the 1st division at Naestved Boldklub, formerly a regular team in the top half of the Danish Superliga in Denmark.   This is not his only international football experience.  He worked as an assistant coach at the Brazilian powerhouse Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras based in the city of Sao Paulo, “O maior clube do Brasil”, the biggest club in Brazil.  

Prior to coaching  the S.E Palmeiras U20 football team,  Pabon worked with the U17 football team acquiring some to the most prestigious achievements which include Runner-up in the Mundial De Clubes U17 in Spain. The team also won individual awards: most effective attack, top scorer, and best goal keeper.  Despite losing to Real Madrid in Penalties, finalists in Taça BH, the largest competition for Sub 17 in all of Brazil, finalist in Copa Chivas Sub-17 México, finalist in Torneio da Real Sociedad Sub-17 Spain and semi Finalists Salvador Cup Brazil.  He helped develop and coached Allan Guimaraes, Lucas Rosa, and Vitor Eduardo who were selected to the U17 National Team and Anibal Vega also selected to the Paraguay National team. 

Pabon began his professional duties at S.E Palmeiras U20 football team.  They were champions in the first European tournament in Torneio de Bellinzona, Switzerland. They played the top teams such as Thaon, Bayeux, Verson e Vire, Roma, Milan, PSV, Athletic Bilbao, and Boca Juniors.  They also were Runner up in the Peronne Cup Nice, France.  

The Massapequa, New York native serves as the President and academy director with South Florida Elite Football Club, Florida, and also holds a number of professional certifications including licenses from U.S. Soccer and the Florida Youth Soccer Association.
