David Luna

Head Coach Women’s Soccer

David Luna was hired as the head coach for women’s soccer at the University of Fort Lauderdale on February 8th, 2021.  

Luna has spent the last four seasons as Head coach at ASA College.  Luna rebuilt the women’s program that had been struggling to get off the ground.  He finished with an overall record of 26- 21-7.  During his tenure at the helm, ASA was ranked as high as 13th in the Nation with over a dozen players being recognized as Regional All-team players.  The Lady Silver Storm had notable wins over nationally ranked teams both in their region and national play.  They transferred over 25 ladies to four-year institutions at all levels during his time at ASA and two went directly into the Pros in international play.      


Prior to ASA, Luna spent three seasons with the Johnson & Wales University women’s soccer team as the associate Head coach and assistant coach. Luna is a Braintree, Massachusetts native who attended the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. The Massachusetts native studied Communications with a focus on Advertising and a Minor in Marketing. After his collegiate career was over at Bridgeport, Luna went on to play semi-professional and professional soccer here in the states with the USL and NPSL leagues. 

Luna brings a wealth of coaching experience to the program which includes time at the youth, high school and collegiate level.  He was a Volunteer Assistant coach at Fairfield University in Connecticut. 

Luna holds a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) advanced national diploma. He also holds a USSF “C” License along with several state, regional and national youth diplomas and licenses, as well as goalkeeping diplomas.
